The Best Memorial Day Sales: From Everlane to Soko Glam

Photo-Illustration: The Strategist; Photos: Retailers

Memorial Day weekend is finally here, and the sales just keep rolling in. We’ve found over 70 great deals at more than 30 of our favorite retailers, including discounted quick-drying bath towels, under-$300 Le Creuset cookware, half-off linen bedding, and lots of things to get you ready for your next beach hangout or backyard barbecue. You’ll find all of the holiday’s best sales below, though we’ve also rounded up our favorite retailer-specific deals at Dermstore, Glossier, Nordstrom, Parachute, and Outdoor Voices. And if you want even more to keep you busy, you can always sign up for our newsletter.

It’s not technically a Memorial Day sale, but Amazon just discounted a bunch of home essentials — including small appliances, lawn-care items, and outdoor décor — to help you gear up for the long weekend.

One happy customer says this Eufy vacuum’s suction power is “much stronger than Roombas I’ve had,” while other customers are pleased with how quiet it is and its slim design that allows the Eufy to get under beds and dressers seamlessly.

An easy-to-care-for table-size starter plant for those with (or without) a green thumb.

If you (or a friend) plan on doing some light renovating this summer, DTC paint brand Backdrop — which our friends at the Cut once called the Brooklinen of paint — is offering 20 percent off all gift cards through Monday, May 30. The discount automatically applies at checkout.

In addition to paint, the gift card can also be applied to wallpaper and supplies.

Over at Best Buy, you can find deals on appliances, speakers, tablets, headphones, video games, and more.

$180

JBL’s Charge 5 speaker is a favorite of Strategist tech writer Jordan Bowman, who says it’s “simple to use” and “sounds impressive straight out of the box, with no need to tinker with EQ or even read the manual.” Plus it’s JBL PartyBoost compatible.

Bose’s QuietComfort 35 noise-canceling headphones are a favorite of David Sedaris, our columnist Chris Black, and Amazon reviewers. The newer version, the QuietComfort 45, offers surround-sound audio and an extra four hours of playing time.

If you don’t have central air, here’s $100 off a handsome Dyson fan that doubles as an air purifier.

All of Brooklinen’s offerings — from lightweight-linen quilts to crisp cotton sheets — are 15 percent off through the long weekend.

Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheet Bundle
From $135
From $135

These luxe sateen sheets are all-time Brooklinen best sellers for a reason. Former Strategist writer David Notis describes them as “really soft” without “the shiny look other sateen sheets sometimes get.”

Caraa doesn’t often hold sales, but now through May 30, you can take up to 45 percent off select totes, backpacks, and diaper bags.

Katheryn Thayer, Kickstarter’s brand content director, says Caraa’s studio bag is a must if you love to work out before (or after) work. It has “a million secret pockets, adjustable straps that convert to a backpack or over-the-shoulder weekender, and a big, cushiony pouch for my laptop. Plus, it zips fully closed,” she says.

Designed to clip onto a stroller or backpack, this insulated bag fits two narrow bottles with an ice pack or two wide bottles by themselves.

Pet food and accessories from brands like Frisco, Iams, and Petmate are up to 30 percent off through May 30, plus all orders over $49 ship for free.

No dog will be able to resist a game of fetch (or tug-of-war) with this durable ball.

Coach Outlet

Through Monday, save up to 70 percent on bags, clothing, and accessories at the Coach Outlet. Plus select sale items are an extra 15 percent off with the code SUMMER15.

This structured leather bag has a detachable strap that adjusts for either shoulder or cross-body wear.

All towels, bedding, blankets, and apparel are 20 percent off as part of Coyuchi’s Sunnier Days Event.

A favorite of former Strategist writer Karen Iorio Adelson; she says these generously sized bath sheets are more absorbent — yet quicker to dry — than traditional bath towels.

Jenefer Palmer, founder and formulator of OSEA skin care, told us that while she has many bathrobes in rotation, the Coyuchi Solstice robe is the one she wears most. It’s breathable and easy to launder, and because it’s designed to fall above the knee, those on the shorter side won’t end up swimming in it.

Dame makes some of our favorite high-design sex toys that look nice enough to leave out on a nightstand. With the code VIBEWELL, orders over $50 will be marked down 15 percent.

The Pom is a squishy palm-size vibe that’s great for both solo and partner play. It can be easily manipulated in between bodies as well as used on different areas of the body.

If your medicine cabinet could use a bit of a refresh, almost everything is 20 percent off at Dermstore’s Summer Sale with code SUN. Plus members earn double points on select brands.

EltaMD’s dermatologist-favorite (and rarely on-sale) UV Clear sunscreen is now included in the sale — no code required. It offers both physical and chemical protection, has lots of antioxidants to protect from free radicals, and doesn’t dry with a greasy white tinge.

From $16

This oil cleanser is one of our favorites, particularly for oily skin. It’s also great for removing makeup (waterproof included) and leaves skin feeling soft, supple, and hydrated.

Strategist beauty contributor Rio Viera-Newton swears by the COSRX Snail Mucin Essence, which she calls one of the best healing, moisturizing, and brightening essences on the market. It works for a range of skin issues — from dullness to dryness to acne — and is made up mostly of snail mucin (that’s snail secretions), which is known to help repair and hydrate skin.

Over at Everlane, take 25 percent off select full-price styles through Monday. Plus, the brand just restocked its sale section.

Layer this stretchy crop top — made from durable, machine-washable silk — over a tee on cooler days.

Sizing is limited, but here’s an excellent deal on a breezy cotton dress that’s both office and beach appropriate.

At just $10, it would cost you about the same to tie-dye a tank yourself (but there’s no guarantee it’ll look this good).

At Food52, select cutlery, cookware, bakeware, and even pool and picnic gear are more than half off for the long weekend.

This little butter warmer from Dansk — a favorite among kitchenware collectors and multi-hyphenate chef Samin Nosrat — is made from enameled carbon steel with a handled lid that doubles as a trivet.

Here’s a waterproof picnic blanket for when you inevitably encounter wet grass at your park hang. It folds up into a handy tote bag for easy carrying.

These adult-size pool floats are made from BPA-free and recyclable PVC plastic.

Select clothing, footwear, and accessories from Copenhagen-based label Ganni are up to 40 percent off. Some styles are final sale, so make sure to double check your size at checkout.

These rubber clogs will be impervious to mysterious summer puddles.

An ultra-flattering balloon-sleeve blouse for your next brunch date.

With code FOG22, take 20 percent off (almost) everything at the Friends of Glossier Sale. (It’s the brand’s only sale of the season, so if you don’t stock up now, you’ll have to wait until Black Friday.)

Glossier’s Cloud Paint blush — another favorite of Rio’s — is one of those multitasking beauty products that work for just about everyone because there are very few ways to mess it up. The gel-cream consistency makes it easy to achieve a soft, diffused wash of color, and unlike lots of other cream formulas, it actually stays on.

Formulated to make it look as though you have lash extensions in just a few swipes, this mascara coats lashes from root to tip with little fibers that are locked into place with flexible polymers. It’s lengthening, curling, and sculpting, and won’t flake or smudge.

Golde is taking 15 percent off sitewide — including its matcha, which is rarely ever on sale.

Former Strategist intern Aisha Rickford describes Golde’s matcha as “bright, vibrant, and rich,” adding that it’s flavorful enough to drink on its own or mixed into a latte.

DTC darling Great Jones – the maker of some of our favorite cookware — hardly ever offers sales, but now, through the end of the month, it’s offering 25 percent off sitewide with code MDW25. (For the record, that’s the biggest discount we’ve seen since January.)

Whether you’re baking cookies or roasting mixed root vegetables, you’re going to need a solid sheet pan. “The Great Jones Holy Sheet is a great addition for a budding home baker,” says chef Lani Halliday. “It’s sturdy and thick, and you can depend on it to stay nice and flat while affording you an even bake.”

The brand’s Strategist-tested Dutch oven, the Dutchess, is another foolproof pick. “The oval shape means there’s a lot of surface area to cook on, which would be great for big batches or stews,” writes Strategist editor Maxine Builder. She calls the gray interior “tastefully different” and a smarter, more stain-resistant choice than Le Creuset’s white one.

If you have a little one to shop for, Hanna Andersson is offering up to 50 percent off pajamas, swimsuits, onesies, and more through May 31.

This caterpillar-print onesie is sure to be a hit at your next baby shower.

As would this cheery sunblock swimsuit made from recycled nylon. Because it’s durable and fade-resistant, it’ll last much longer than a growing toddler can fit it.

Take up to 50 percent off clothing, gear, home décor, and more. Note that standard shipping is just $5.

For general note-taking, here’s a limited-edition (and rarely on sale) Field Notes set. New York editor Alexis Swerdloff says the notebooks are “small enough to fit in a chore-coat pocket but vertical enough for jotting down lots of notes.”

Bamboo Countertop Composter
$35
$35

This actually stylish compost bin is attractive enough to leave out on the countertop. It’d make a perfect gift for someone who has a weekly trip to the farmers’ market blocked off in their calendar.

Over at J.Crew, you can take up to 50 percent off your purchase — including swimwear and sale styles — with code SUMMER.

Reviewers call this one-shoulder one-piece “SO flattering,” and supportive enough for larger busts. (And if it isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, there are plenty of on-sale two-piece stylescover-upsbeach hats, and even rash guards.)

After your swim, slip on this breezy linen cami. It’s still in stock in white, teal, black, and the flax shown.

Sustainable-underwear label Knickey is offering 20 percent off sitewide with the code MDW2022.

Evelynn Escobar-Thomas, founder of intersectional hiking club Hike Clerb, calls Knickey’s High-Rise Brief (which features a dramatic French-cut leg) the only underwear she wants to wear.

Everything (yes, everything) is 25 percent off at Madewell through May 30 with code LONGWEEKEND.

We’ve written about Madewell’s sturdy, luxe-looking Transport Tote no fewer than a dozen times before and even dubbed it one of the best bags for work thanks to its roomy interior and neutral go-with-everything shades.

Former Strategist writer Chloe Anello says these lug-sole loafers have the “perfect amount of chunkiness” for their shape.

So many mattresses are on sale that we rounded them all up here.

Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale is back, and thousands of items — from portable speakers to Hydro Flask water bottles to UGG slippers — are up to 65 percent off. There’s a lot to sort through, so you can find our favorites from the sale here.

It’s not every day we find Skims bras on sale — let alone a bralette that’s still in stock in most sizes.

It’s not exactly shearling-slipper season, but you’ll be glad to have these UGG slides on hand once the temperature drops (or when the air-conditioning gets too intense).

Several Strategist staffers (myself included) rely on Hydro Flask water bottles to keep their drinks cool all day. “It’s my favorite water bottle to bring on long car rides, where I don’t want my water bottle to get baked and weight isn’t a primary concern,” says Strategist editor Maxine Builder. This one has a straw lid, which I prefer, as I have a tendency to baptize myself with the wide mouth.

Outdoor Voices’ OV Extra Sale is back on for the long weekend. Take up to 50 percent off shorts, sports bras, leggings, and dozens of other sweat-wicking offerings.

This compressive cami top is ideal for low-impact workouts like pilates and yoga.

The brand’s best-selling Zoom leggings — still in stock in sizes XS to XL — are now under $50 and hardly ever go on sale.

We’ve been singing the praises of Parachute’s sheets and bathrobes for years, and now you can get (practically) everything for 20 percent off through May 30. Two of our favorites from the sale are below, but you can shop the rest of our top picks here.

This Strategist-tested-and-approved set was crowned the best overall pick in our review of linen sheets. Sweaty sleepers will love that the breathable fabric gets softer over time.

Not many robes can have had a waiting list nearly 2,000 people long, but this Turkish-cotton one did — and it was named the best less-expensive option in our Best in Class review. A favorite of many Strategist readers, this not-too-thick but very warm robe has been a best seller multiple times.

REI

Everything from camping gear to gymwear is up to 30 percent off at REI’s Anniversary Sale now through May 30. Members can also save 20 percent on one full-price item and an extra 20 percent on one REI Outlet item with code ANNIV22. (And orders over $50 ship for free.)

Running coach Francisco Balagtas told us he runs “fast and slow, long and far, and everything in between” — and that he does it all in Hoka One One running shoes, which almost never go on sale. “Being so light, they’re great for doing faster workouts, but they have enough cushion to go longer and slower as well,” he says.

We’ve tested (and loved) several pairs of Chaco’s hiking sandals. We’re certain these cushioned slides will live up to their name.

This vintage-inspired lawn chair is made from soft, woven polyester that doesn’t stick or pinch. Plus it has backpack straps for easy carrying.

Makeup from brands including Fenty, Bite, and KVD Beauty is 50 percent off through Monday. Don’t forget to use the code FREESHIP for — you guessed it — free shipping.

Bite Beauty’s Power Move lip crayon has a hydrating matte formula that, according to former Strategist writer Chloe Anello, “applies easily” and “doesn’t budge, even if you double-mask or chow down on a burger for lunch.”

If you’re looking to swap out your full-coverage foundation for something lighter this summer, Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation offers buildable, medium coverage and a hydrating, natural finish.

Select best-selling skin care and hair care is up to 30 percent off at Soko Glam through June 1. (And if you aren’t quite sure where to start, you can shop our favorites from the retailer here.)

The sale includes our readers’ favorite hydrating Annatto Hair Oil from British M — a worthy splurge even at full price — that Rio Viera-Newton says is the “most lightweight, smoothing oil” she’s ever used.

Take up to 50 percent off hundreds of items from some of the best kitchen brands, including All-Clad, Staub, Le Creuset, and Zwilling.

Lots of cookware from Le Creuset — a favorite among several chefs and home cooks we’ve spoken to — is up to 35 percent off at Sur La Table, including its coveted Dutch oven.

Just the right size for desserts and sides.

And for after the meal, here’s a deeply discounted set of double-walled espresso glasses.

When grilling season ends, this steel basket will still double as a strainer.

Now through May 30, select best-selling styles are 20 percent as part of Uniqlo’s Arigato event.

We’ve long been fans of Uniqlo’s cotton tees, which are breathable, durable, and hold their shape even after dozens of washes.

Whether you plan to wear them for running or relaxing, these six-inch bike shorts are made from breathable, sweat-wicking fabric that’ll keep you both cool and dry this summer. Plus, they have a hidden back pocket.

Select full-price summer styles are 50 percent off through the long weekend. Plus, you can take an extra 40 percent off already on-sale items.

With adjustable straps, snap-button closure, and an inner zipper pocket, Baggu’s Duck Bag has long been one of the Strategist team’s favorite commuter totes.

Still in stock in 11 colors and most sizes, you can get three of these cotton tees for the price of one.

Luxury beauty retailer Violet Grey is offering 20 percent off almost everything, including Strategist-favorite brands like Act+Acre, Augustinus Bader, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Nécessaire, T3, and more.

What former Cut editor Kathleen Hou dubbed “the secret to rich-person skin,” this celebrity-approved Augustinus Bader night cream is one of our favorites for dry skin.

This body wash from Nécessaire is the only scented soap Rio has been able to use without her eczema flaring up. That’s because it “doesn’t foam up in that super-sudsy car-wash way” but “gently emulsifies and washes away,” leaving skin soothed rather than stripped.

The brand’s unscented body lotion, which Rio calls a “completely neutral, thick moisturizing cream that gives winter skin the nourishment and hydration it needs,” is also included in the sale.

Thousands of items across all categories at Walmart — from kids’ toys to patio furniture — have been marked down for Memorial Day.

As your little one waters the flower at the top of this Little Tikes water table, it begins to bloom and grow, just like a real garden. It also has four separate platforms (and comes with over ten accessories) so that several kids can play together at once.

This Bodum coffee maker is made of ultradurable borosilicate glass and has a reusable stainless-steel mesh insert, meaning you won’t have to buy disposable paper filters.

With fade-resistant cushions and a weather-resistant wicker finish, this three-piece patio set is sure to last for years to come.

During Wayfair’s Memorial Day sale, through May 30, you can take up to 70 percent off across all categories (and an extra 20 percent off select items with code SAVE20).

Robert Guimond, the chef and owner of restaurant Public Display of Affection in Brooklyn, swears by this All-Clad pan. “It cooks evenly, it’s durable, and it’s beautiful,” he says. “I often find myself daydreaming about sautéing some gnocchi or scallops with it right after I’m done washing it.”

For those with children or pets, this wood-burning fire pit comes with a fully enclosed spark screen for extra safety.

This minimalist floor lamp would make a welcome addition to any living room or bedroom.

While it isn’t labeled as a Memorial Day sale, West Elm just discounted a bunch of new styles — some by as much as 50 percent — including bedding, kitchenware, and home décor. Plus you can take an extra 15 percent off select sale items with code EXTRA15.

Now that the weather’s warming up, swap out your down-filled duvet for this cooler, more breathable linen comforter.

Ideal for outdoor use, these colorful glasses are made from sturdy recycled glass with a stable base to prevent tipping.

Your dry goods will stay organized (and fresh for longer) with these airtight kitchen canisters.

If you need something that’ll arrive before Monday, select shoes, clothing, and accessories are on sale at Zappos — almost all of which will ship express for free.

These wedding-guest-appropriate heels from Franco Sarto are (somehow) still in stock in black, camel, and the white shown.

Keep your essentials close by with this Carhartt hip pack during your next hike or bike ride.

Finally, no toddler will be able to resist a pair of holographic summer sandals. (We just wish they came in adult sizes.)

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.

The Best Memorial Day Sales: From Everlane to Soko Glam
