10 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Fly by Jing to REI

Lots of early Black Friday sales launched last week, and it looks as though even more retailers are getting in on the action starting today. We found nice gifts to give the gourmand — like a spicy Sichuan chili crisp and an Advent calendar filled with caramels — as well as stocking-stuffer beauty products they’ll actually use.

Fly by Jing’s highly popular chili crisp is 20 percent off right now. It’s great for drizzling, dipping, and being the star of the brand’s recipe for vegan mapo tofu, which I keep taped up on my kitchen cabinets because I make it so often.

And this huge gift set of all of the brand’s best-selling sauces and spices is 50 percent off.

At Our Place, everything is 30 percent off — including this mini version of the hyped do-it-all Always Pan. (Nordstrom is price-matching several products from the sale too.)

Nordstrom has also been steadily adding new products to its Holiday Deals Sale. Some items — like these cute wide-leg pajama pants — are an extra 25 percent off until midnight tonight, so don’t dillydally.

Here are some cushy running shoes from Brooks, a brand loved by Strategist staffers and pro runners alike. (They’re also available in women’s sizes.)

Hundreds of skin-care, hair-care, and beauty products are up to 50 percent off at Ulta until tomorrow night for its Hello Holidays Sale. This dermatologist-approved Japanese-drugstore staple removes makeup with ease and happens to be “one of the best products for getting rid of stubborn blackheads,” according to Strategist contributor Rio Viera-Newton.

If you’re on the hunt for an affordable set of makeup brushes that actually work, Rio recommends this Real Techniques set. I became a fan of the setting brush after seeing Katie Jane Hughes use it to flawlessly blend some Glossier concealer.

If you’re looking to get a jump start on organizing your affairs in 2023, several 12-month planners are on sale at Rifle Paper Co.

REI’s Gear Up Get Out Sale started last week, and one of the highlights is that everything from its in-house brand is 30 percent off. These anti-slip slip-ons are like puffy jackets for your feet.

Advent calendars are 20 percent off at Food52 when you use the code ADVENT20. This 24-piece set of handcrafted caramels features 12 unique flavors, from classic vanilla to rosemary truffle sea salt.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
