10 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Timex to Boy Smells

While many retailers are waiting until Presidents’ Day weekend to drop some really good sales on us, that doesn’t mean there aren’t a ton of excellent deals to be had this week (just see today’s deal of the day — I’ve never added to cart so fast). In addition to several thoughtful (and on-sale) Valentine’s Day gifts, I also found some great long-weekend travel essentials like a makeup-carrying case, a celeb-approved travel pillow, and a card game for kids.

Podcaster and television personality Erin Andrews says she brings this Tempur-Pedic travel pillow on every trip because it helps “hold your neck and head properly and you feel like you get a great night’s sleep.” (And it’s squashable enough to fit in your carry-on when not in use.)

For budding indoor gardeners, our best-in-class smart garden is the cheapest we’ve ever seen it. The planter controls the amount of light your plants get, and backlit buttons remind you to add water — you can pop in seed pods (it comes with six), and soon you can harvest homegrown fresh herbs with minimal effort.

Bissell makes our favorite inexpensive vacuums to deal with pet hair and dander. This lightweight model features a tangle-free brush, detachable pod for cleaning small spaces, and a HEPA-sealed system to trap allergens.

This “Cards Against Humanity but for kids” game would make a nice non-candy Valentine’s Day gift you can play together.

With just over a week left before Valentine’s Day, Amazon is your best bet for finding a gift that will arrive on time. For an under-$50 budget, this classic Timex watch “tricks people into thinking it costs more than it does because it’s simply designed, yet still has all the features of a pricier timepiece,” says Strategist editor Maxine Builder.

For modern lingerie with a vintage feel, check out Fleur du Mal, which is much loved by fashion types. This strawberry-printed balconette bra is so fun and pinup-y — and the matching thong and garter are on sale to complete the set.

All three candles from Boy Smells’s holiday collection are 25 percent off. Broken Rosary is a woody, floral scent, while Incensorial is a spicy, woody scent and Figurare is a spicy, botanical scent.

Kneipp’s entire line of relaxing bath salts and oils are on sale at Ulta. This lavender-scented soak would make an excellent gift for a valentine who could desperately use a self-care day.

And for the valentine whose Dopp kit is far too small for their makeup collection, here’s a faux-leather travel case that’s fully lined for easy cleaning.

Patagonia’s winter sale ends Wednesday, so it’s your last chance to stock up on rarely on-sale gear. Surprisingly, these half-off classic leggings are still available in all sizes and four colors.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
