The Strategist
Our Weekly Shopping Pick

We’re big on Blundstones.

These Work-Appropriate Blundstones Are a Worthy Addition to Any Boot Collection

It’s a little hard to tell in the image above, but these Blundstone boots — styles number 63 and 1309, to be exact — have a slightly squared toe instead of the wider, rounded one on the brand’s classic Chelsea boots. It’s this ever-so-shaped toe that we think gives these Blundstones a slightly dressier, office-friendly edge (you might even call them a more rugged, slushy-street-ready version of Everlane’s Square-Toe Chelsea Boot). And if you’re thinking, Hold on, I already have a pair of Blundstones, this is when we inform you that no less than four Strategist staffers own two pairs apiece: a “nice” one and a second “wear-on-hikes-and-all-over-town-in-the-rain-and-snow” style. Managing editor Maxine Builder has the above square-toed boots in the rich “redwood” color as well as the slightly higher-heeled 1673s. Newsletter editor Mia Leimkuhler switches between those work-appropriate 63s in black and the weekend-errands-friendly 584s. Staff writer Liza Corsillo has the heeled 1641s and the classic 510s (both in black). And editorial intern Kayla Levy alternates between the black 510s and some 585s in rustic brown. In other words: You’d be in good company — specifically, team Strategist’s company — if you picked up a first (or second) pair.
