Bubble YumThe hemline on the miniskirt is changing again. And since they can’t get any shorter (or can they?), they’re getting fuller — this time with a bubble hem. Costello Tagliapietra gathered her hem on a dip-dye skirt; Donna Karan added a briochelike touch to several pattern dresses; and Hervé Léger used the bubble hem to deviate from a collection of second-skin dresses. Feeling bubbly yet?

Take a BowLast year’s obsession with hats has morphed into a fascination with headbands. Big bows topped heads at Erin Fetherston, who wrapped tresses in feminine flowers. Costello Tagliapietra paired their evening dresses with satin hair bands. Sass & Bide sent out hats, bands, wraps, or feathers with every look. And Elise Overland belted a piece of extra-long fabric for a sixties-hippie feeling. So, go ahead, tie one on.

Brian Williams Likes Thin-Crust Pizza, Ambien, and Claire DanesName: Brian WilliamsJob: Anchor and managing editor, NBC Nightly News; sometime blogger. Brian will host on Saturday Night Live this weekend — which just got especially exciting because of the writers strike! Neighborhood: Upper East Side Who’s your favorite New Yorker, living or dead, real or fictional? FDR What’s the best meal you’ve eaten in New York? Sacco Pizza (819 Ninth Avenue, between 54th and 55th) is most consistently my favorite place in a hurry. Low-rent but the best thin-crust pizza in the city. In one sentence, what do you actually do all day in your job? Compile, write, and edit the day’s news, while hopefully influencing young people on our staff.

Brandon Davis Haunts New York … Permanently? As if the violence in Union Square and excess of exposed, mottled flesh on the streets didn’t make this Halloween scary enough, Brandon Davis was apparently also haunting New York. The Daily News knew for sure it was the Oilcrotch, and not someone wearing what would have been a mind-bogglingly brilliant costume, because they saw the dude terrorizing an employee at the New York Costume shop. After one of the bimbos with bratty Brandon told him the feathery, glittery mask he was trying on looked bad, we personally saw him throw it across the counter, hitting the cashier. The News hopefully suggests that Davis won’t be in town for long, but didn’t he just say he was moving here to start an art dealership? Which means maybe he wasn’t visiting at all, maybe he has already moved in. Mwahahahhahahaha. Now that’s spooky. Rush and Molloy [NYDN]

Life After the Runway: Molly Sims, Hungry No More! One of the best parts of going to the tents in Bryant Park is chilling in the W Hotel lounge backstage, where celebs sip on mimosas before making their last-minute trips to the front row. Already, the Olsens and Gwen Stefani (and baby) have made appearances, along with Mya and Teri Hatcher. Demi Moore was supposed to come before Miss Sixty but accidentally got swept into the IMG lounge, where she was swarmed by the crowd from a party-in-progress. We caught up with model turned TV host Molly Sims and got the scoop on her shopping habits as well as the meta-experience of watching her former profession from the front row.
