Protests at the Waverly Inn?Disgruntled permanent residents of Eric Goode and Sean McPherson’s Hotel Riverview are threatening to protest outside the duo’s other famous property.
Hotel Riverview Is All Goode (and MacPherson) Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode’s acquisition of downtown hotels continues apace! Today’s Sun confirms what Hotel Chatter swore was true the other day: The dudes behind the Maritime and Bowery hotels have added Jane Street’s Riverview Hotel to their portfolio — their plans for it were approved by the community business board last night. They intend to renovate the building — the former American Seaman’s Friend Society Sailors Home, which was occupied by sailors who survived the sinking of the Titanic and now houses Socialista — restoring its original, seafaring look but adding amenities like sunbathing decks for the rooms and bars that Zach Braff will undoubtedly enjoy.

Hotel Riverview to Be Hipified By the Goode-MacPhersons?It’s been rumored for weeks, and now the Website Hotel Chatter is saying that “a well credentialed tipster” has told them that Bowery Hotel duo Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode have purchased the Riverview Hotel, at 113 Jane Street, for $33 million. The Riverview, ranked 307 out of 338 on Trip Advisor, is in a great location but is in shitty shape; like the Whitehouse, which preceded the Bowery Hotel, it is basically a flophouse. So this is great news for residents of the Far West Village. Just think, now all the impoverished drunks and ne’er-do-wells who hang out there will be replaced by rich drunks and ne’er-do-wells.

And during hectic preparations for Fashion Week, how hard does she try to live up to her childhood nickname, Slim (the title of her recently published “fantasy memoir”)? We were relieved to discover she’s actually a voracious eater.
