A North Carolina native, Elizabeth Karmel was raised on barbecue, whether it was a roadside stand, neighbourhood cookout, or county fair. While most girls played with dolls, she played with fire. In 2001, she created Girls at the Grill to share her passion for outdoor cooking with girls (and guys) everywhere. With her goal to make grilling and barbecue an everyday cooking technique, Karmel is one of America's foremost female grilling experts and works with Hill Country to impart the barbecue traditions she holds dear. With her dedication, experience, and passion for fire, she brings the authentic flavors of Texas barbecue to New York City.
