New York culinary editor Gillian Duffy carefully chooses the participants each year. The passion and diversity of the chefs, mixologists, and restaurateurs represent everything that makes dining out in New York such a one-of-a-kind adventure. Unlike other food events, the relaxed, convivial spirit of New York Taste encourages interaction between guests and chefs, affording attendees personal, up-close, and unforgettable-experiences.

How are restaurants selected for New York Taste?

New York is a bastion of culinary influence, always growing and expanding. This year, New York culinary editor Gillian Duffy is seeking out a diverse array of international tastemakers. After culling a list of her favorites that represents the very best of global cuisine, she personally invites some 40 chefs and mixologists, ensuring a mix that is as delicious as the tastes of New York.

When will tickets be available for New York Taste?

Tickets for the 2012 event, taking place in November 2012, go on sale in July 2012. General Admission and VIP tickets will be available exclusively through TicketWeb.

What is the difference between a VIP ticket and a General Admission ticket?

A VIP ticket includes a one-hour tasting preview (6-7 pm), access to the VIP Lounge, and an exclusive gift bag. A General Admission ticket allows access to tastings from 7-9 pm.

Is there an age requirement to attend New York Taste?

Yes, you must be 21 or older to attend the event.

Is New York Taste a charity event?

Yes! In 2012, New York is partnering with City Harvest on this event for the thirteenth year. A portion of the proceeds from the evening is donated to City Harvest. Click here to learn more about the City Harvest food rescue organization.

How do I get a gift bag?

VIP gift bags—which are filled with a wide range of products, culinary tools, and unique items—are reserved exclusively for guests who purchase a VIP ticket. VIP tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and limited quantities of gift bags are available.
