Starting this year, Serena Williams can add “Calendar Girl” to her already very impressive résumé. The tennis star tweeted over the weekend that she will be in the legendary (and NSFW) Pirelli calendar, known in the fashion industry as the “most prestigious calendar” in the world and typically a repository of top models like Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, and Adriana Lima in various states of nudity. Steven Meisel shot last year’s calendar, themed around fetish culture and the first to feature a plus-size model, Candice Huffine. But Williams’s announcement suggests a unique departure for the calendar, which was shot this year by Annie Leibovitz.
