Outfit of the Week: A Different Way to Layer Up

Photo: Jody Rogac

When it comes to creative fall layering, we’re big fans of thinking up new ways to wear as many clothes as possible without looking like Joey from Friends. If you’re considering the highly controversial dress-over-pants styling trick, here’s one way to do it. Instead of going for something voluminous on top, look to a slimmer, tuniclike style. This version from Clu mixes wool with silk for textural contrast, but you could also just stick to a solid wool shift, like these similar options from Zara, and pointy ballerinas — it’s all a matter of personal preference. Just leave a little ankle showing, and you’re good to go.
