Dammit, I’m Actually Inspired by This Nike Ad About an 86-Year-Old Triathlete Nun

I thought I was immune to the power of inspirational advertising, but Nike’s latest ad, “Unlimited Youth,” proved me wrong (and also subtly negged me about my workout routine).

The video spot stars the impressively fit Sister Madonna Buder, a.k.a. the Iron Nun, an 86-year-old nun who completed her first Ironman Triathalon at 52. That’s impressive in and of itself — but, since then, she’s completed 325 triathlons, including a 2012 Ironman that made her the world-record holder for the oldest person in the world to finish the race.

Just a reminder that this means she can swim for 2.4 miles, bike for 112, and run for 26.2. Meanwhile, I, uh, rack up a decent amount of steps every day.
