A leader in couture invitation design, this company makes pieces that are detailed and luxurious; it’s also known for its New York–inspired stationery. Clients can work directly with Ceci Johnson and her design team to create a custom suite ($2,300 for a suite of 100).

This Upper East Side stationer, which has been around since 1878, is one of the world’s last remaining companies to use painstaking old-school engraving techniques. Prices upon request.

Double Happiness Creations


This tiny design studio frequently incorporates nonpaper elements such as silver grommets, pressed flower petals, and bamboo in its invitation suites (from $18). Ellen Weldon Design, LLC

With more than 25 years of experience as a couture invitation designer and calligrapher, Weldon can create everything from classic designs on Italian stock to silk-screened prints on dried Egyptian papyrus leaves. Upon request, she will even design a unique monogram. Suites start at $30 each and include an outer envelope, invitation, reply card, and inner envelope.
