An awards-show appearance from Chappell Roan often comes with some surprises (last year’sVideo Music Awardssaw anunsheathed swordandshooting crossbow), but for herfirst time at the Grammys, it wasn’t the hennin on her head that caught our attention — it was her buttermilk-yellow notebook. Roan read from the notebook during her acceptance speech for Best New Artist, and soon after, a flurry of messages in the Strategist-staff Slack channel tried to answer the question:Whatnotebookis that, exactly?“Looks Leuchtturmy to me,” replied senior editorAilbhe Malone. (The combination of striped and solid ribbons and the color were all clues.) And while we initially narrowed it down to two — theSketchnote Journalor theMedium Hardcover Notebook— a Leuchtturm representative officially confirmed to us today that it’s the latter. It comes in a color the company calls “vanilla” and an A5 format for note-taking.
