I first read about these workhorse Gap tank tops in Laura Reilly’sMagasinnewsletter and bought one in black in March. They were among hermost-worn items of clothing last year, and now I know why. They’re incredibly soft, flattering, great for layering — and go with everything. With the weather warming up, I decided to stock up on a couple more and was pleased to to see them on sale for over 30 percent off. I bought one in khaki and in white. Because I have a very short torso, I wanted to try theslightly cropped version as well. (Most tops are too long on me, though I will say that the regular-length tank is actually not too bad.) In the shorter style, I got thisblack-and-white-striped topand thisnavy-blue one with white trimthat I liked for its preppy look. Between the two lengths, there are about a dozen different colors to choose from, all of which are on sale (save one indigo style).
