New Stuff Alert: Did Dries Van Noten Make a New Status Handsoap?

The Yeehaw agenda continues apace. Cowboy boot-maker Tecovas has collaborated with Krewe, an eyewear brand that makes nice-looking shades. (In 2024, senior editor Jen Trolio named itsWebster framethe best thing she bought all year.) The collaboration riffs on four of Krewe’s best-selling frames, reimagining them with western details like leather detailing and gold accents.

In other eyewear news, Alemais and Le Specs have collaborated for a second time. This go-round, the brands have introduced three new colorways. I’ve been eyeing the jade-marble color of the Lunar sunglasses, which feel a bit funkier than the usual summer fare.

Mejuri’s latest release, the Puzzle collection, is well timed, given that Mother’s Day will be here before we know it. The modular collection, designed to be layered and stacked together, features birthstone rings and charms that fit on most of the brand’s chains.

The world of fancy hand creams and body lotions has expanded thanks to a new body-care collection from Dries Van Noten. The scents, unsurprisingly, sound divine — soie and amber, basil and hinoki, pepper and rose. Also compelling: the packaging. The sunset ombre would look quite nice on a nightstand or peeking out of a bag.

Glossier has also expanded its fragrance lineup with Glossier You Soie, a skin scent the brand says smells a little different on everyone. A peek at the notes: bergamot, rice milk, tiare water, evening jasmine, and ambrox. Sounds promising.

Noah and Converse have teamed up on a collection of vintage-looking Chucks. The collaboration is (unsurprisingly) selling quickly — the low-top sneakers are totally out of stock — but there are a few sizes left of the patchwork high-top style.

Another streetwear collaboration: Gap recently released a collection with Awake NY, bringing the streetwear brand’s bold graphics to Gap staples. Personally, I’m a fan of the logoed hoodies, which blend the two brand identities and feel like something I’d be happy to have purchased a decade down the line.

The announcement of this collaboration set off a flurry of messages in the Strategist Slack chat. The consensus was that it was Matilda Goad–adjacent but on the whole, very good. Pieces that caught our eye: a Pigeon pitcher and the upholstered telephone bench, which senior writer Liza Corsillo said would be “fun for a teen with a landline.”

In a similar vein, Parachute released a vintage capsule collection, which features soft-colored printed sheets in the popular cotton percale — a favorite of interior designer Kate Lester because they’re both “lightweight and durable” — a cotton throw, and overdyed quilts.

Last week, Eberjey, makers of our favorite pajamas, collaborated with Ilia — whose tint has a spot in our Beauty 100 — on a limited-edition collection of silk pajamas, an eye mask, and bundles that contain a mix of the brand’s products.

All the things we love about the Alex Mill tote, now made mini. This one can be worn two ways, as a crossbody or carried by the top handles; it snaps flat, so it can be easily packed. Like the bigger sizes, this one can be monogrammed too, albeit with one letter rather than three.

In time for summer dining, Mackenzie-Childs dropped a melamine collection. There are plates and cups in an array of patterns and colors. I’m a fan of the acrylic pitchers, which could be used year-round and are sturdier than a more delicate material like ceramic or glass.
