New Stuff Alert: A Whitney Houston Barbie and Plant-Shaped John Derian Rugs

Skin-care brand Drunk Elephant just launched its version of a foundation, a “multiuse complexion drop.” The formula contains amino-acid-coated pigments, which are supposed create a more even finish and mix with both water- and oil-based products, according to the brand. It also includes peptides for smoothing and plant-derived oils for moisturizing. The foundation comes in 25 shades.

In celebration of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, Tonies has released a Pokémon-themed special edition of its screen-free audio player and collection of Tonies featuring Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander; all the original audio content is brand-new and exclusive to Tonies. The Toniebox and Tonies are currently available for preorder and will start shipping later in August.

Mattel has released a new Barbie doll paying tribute to Whitney Houston that is styled to look like the singer in themusic videofor her iconic song “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).” The doll also comes with a microphone and stand.

Frida is expanding its assortment of personal-care products with a new children’s line designed to be easy (and fun) for kids to use all by themselves. There’s a range of hair care, oral care, and body care available — including this whipped bodywash, which I know I would have greatly enjoyed using as a child.

Also for the kids: Canopy and Weezie teamed up on a collection of products for bedtime and bath time. This bundle includes a Canopy baby bathtub purifier and air purifier in a pretty shade of blue, along with two aromatherapy scents to use in the air purifier: Towel Time (sandalwood, sea salt, and sage) and Tub Time (powder, florals, and clean cotton). The wider collection also includes an organic-cottonhooded bath toweland abath mattrimmed in blue.

I’m a sucker for a fun rug, and the leaf-inspired rugs from John Derian’s collaboration with Dutch brand Doing Goods make me wish I had a place in my apartment for a giant elephant ear rug. Each rug is hand-tufted in India with 100 percent New Zealand wool.

Queer Eye’s fashion expert, Tan France, created a furniture collection with Castlery that is “inspired by Tan France’s memories, travels, and heritage.” It includes large furniture pieces such as a dining set, sofas, and a sideboard, as well as smaller accessories like rugs and pillows. I quite like this solid-oak side table, which is designed to sit flush against the arm of a sofa.

It’s a meeting of old-school and new-school preppy: LoveShackyFancy Hunter boots. The collaboration includes both women’s and kids’ boots in three LoveShackFancy prints: Tuscan Toile, Blooming Heirloom Ditsy, and Happy Thoughts. Certain style-pattern combinations are already sold out, so don’t dillydally.

Moccasin-maker Minnetonka teamed up with Madewell on a limited-edition collection of shoes that includes fringed moccasins in three colors, leather driving loafers in two colors, and these lace-up boots. The boots were designed in partnership with Anishinaabe artistAdrienne Benjamin; as a part of the collaboration, Madewell and Minnetonka will be donating to theMidwest Indigenous Immersion Network (MIIN)to support Anishinaabe language preservation and education.

Here’s one for the maximalists and the dopamine dressers: Paris Hilton and Betsey Johnson have released a collection of classic Betsey Johnson designs reinterpreted by Hilton. It includes several dresses, shoes, a book-shaped bag, and a vanity case — all of which are decked out with rhinestones, feathers, bows, pearls, and/or leopard print.
