One of the great joys of my teenage life was going into Lush and having my arm forcefully washed, massaged, andmoisturizedby one of the overly enthusiastic employees. I would spend hours in the store with my friends smelling every single product until I was dizzy. Over the years, I steadily worked my way through all of the company’s products. While there are some clear misses in its line — for example, I’m still not sure why I thought it was a good idea to rub a mixture ofclay and ground almonds on my acne-riddled pubescent face— many of my old favorites still hold up. So in honor ofMall Month, I’ve compiled a best-of-the-best roundup below. (And I even took a trip to the store to discover some new things.)

Back in high school, I used to buy bath bombs all the time until I finally came to the realization that sitting in a hot tub of dirty water was actually a sensory nightmare. It was a real coming-of-age moment for me. I was a Shower Person, nota Bath Person, and that meant I needed to stop wasting my money on bath bombs. That being said, I will always have a soft spot for Intergalactic. It turns the bathtub into a Milky Way, and the addition of popping candy is just plain fun.

While my bath-bomb days are behind me, I love to give my cousin’s kids Lush products during Christmas. No tweens are getting retinol prescriptions on my watch! The Comforter Bubble Bar is always a favorite. It smells supersweet and turns the bath pink and bubbly.

For little kids, you can’t go wrong with Lush’s Rainbow Fun. It’s almost like a super-tactile clay that you can mold before running under water to create bubbles.

For something a little bit more grown-up, there’s Milky Bath, which uses oat flour to create a moisturizing bubble bath.

I will always get a kick out of the giant slabs of soap on display at Lush. Picking a favorite is a bit like picking a favorite child, so I’ve included my top three: (1) Sultana of Soap, which is designed to look like Italian nougat and has a light bergamot scent; (2) the hippieish, patchouli-forward Karma Soap, which is one of the brand’s classic fragrances; (3) and, lastly, Honey I Washed the Kids, which has a sweet honeycomb layer.

Lush has gone viral plenty of times in recent years — specifically for itsSticky DatesandSuper Milkproducts — so clearly there is still plenty of new things to discover since my own teenage mall days. I took myself to a Lush to do some exploring and found that Sticky Dates was just as delicious as I was promised. It’s a true gourmand bomb — sweet but not sickly. I was most interested in the shower gel since I think any leave-on products might be a little too intense with my other fragrances.

Lush’s solid body butters have an interesting application: They’re designed to be applied in-shower on wet skin and then rinsed off, leaving behind more moisturized skin. This is great for the lotion averse or for anyone who doesn’t really have time for a proper post-shower routine. King of Skin, my favorite of the bunch, is shaped like a cute little crown and features a blend of super-nourishing coconut oil and cocoa and shea butters.

Long before there was Kate McLeod, Lush was making massage bars for half the price. Made from extra-virgin coconut oil and cocoa butter, the bars melt as they come into contact with the skin. This one also has carrot seed and babassu oil for extra hydration. Pro tip? Store them far away from the radiator.

While Lush has become known for its limited-edition drops, Dream Cream has been a staple in its lineup for 30 years and it’s easy to see why. It’s a no-frills formula that gets the job done, especially for dry or sensitive skin, since it’s mostly made from cocoa butter and oats.

This is basically the lotion equivalent of Sleepytime tea. While the lavender fragrance might seem obvious, the addition of tonka bean really makes the scent soothing, while glycerin, cocoa butter, and almond oil do the heavy lifting so you wake up with supersoft skin.

The Scrubee is my all-time-favorite Lush product. It’s a lovely little twofer. The black stripes have ground almonds to slough off dead skin cells, while the yellow stripes have shea butter and coconut oil to leave behind a layer of hydration. Plus it’s downright adorable.

For a more straightforward body scrub, I highly recommend Magic Crystals. It smells amazing with a blend of peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, and sage, while the Epsom and sea salts buff away dead skin. It also has a light lather, which I love.

A super-simple lip scrub that gets the job done with three main ingredients: exfoliating castor sugar, conditioning honey, and moisturizing jojoba oil.
