While everyone swoons overJ.Crew’s new barn-jacketcampaign (featuring Spike Lee, Chance the Rapper, Jenny Slate, and about 150 more famous faces), I’ll be over in its sale section, which currently has more than 3,000 great pieces for late summer and early fall. The women’s section is robust, with so many nice office-friendly tops, dresses, and skirts, plus a few really good accessories like bags and belts. There are fewer on-sale men’s pieces but still a decent selection, including several excellent sweaters in a variety of colors and patterns.
Most regular sale items are around 30 percent off, but J.Crew is also running an additional discount: an extra 40 percent off with the code SALETIME.

Women’s shoes and accessories
The discounted bags are especially nice this time around. There’s also a lot of pretty jewelry on sale, including a freshwater pearl necklace for under $50. And I can never have enough silk scarves — I think this brown-and-white pattern will be a good fall and winter accessory.

Men’s clothing
The best pieces in the men’s section are sweaters, including cotton V-necks that’ll layer nicely with some of the discounted button-downs. There are a handful of classic pants, too (chinos and khakis, mostly), which are starting to sell out in some sizes but still have a decent selection for now.
