Every couple I know is getting married this year. As someone who works remotely and wears jean shorts for 90 percent of the year — thanks, Texas heat — I am terrified of the looks I am expected to serve at these functions. There was a time when I had nicer outfits, but that was at least seven years and 30 pounds ago. Thus, a search forwedding-guest dresseshas commenced. I will most likely be buying one or two options and can say with near certainty that they will be purchased at Goodwill. But I’ve been doing some window-shopping to get the creative juices flowing. I’d really like to get something that’s not too fancy, not too form-fitting, and rewearable in more casual settings. Here’s my mini Pinterest board, if you will:

One thing I have decided to splurge on are these cute kitten heels fromSuzanne Rae’s sample sale, which ends on Friday. Hopefully they fit like a glove and pair perfectly with whatever dress I end up getting. But even if they don’t, it’s high time I added a nice pair of heels to my wardrobe.

I’m nearing my one-year anniversary of learning how to throw pottery on the wheel. In that time, I have ruined many a manicure. Glitter nail polish (which has been my signature since my college years) doesn’t look bad with some chips, but lately I’ve been looking for something a little more subtle. I recently came across these lovely sheer polishes from Jinsoon and think I might be able to get away with wearing them to class. Since they’re so translucent, a couple chips wouldn’t be that noticeable and would be simple to touch up (as opposed to darker shades, which usually require me to redo the entire manicure).

I’ve been on the hunt for some flaredyoga pants— with a fold-over waist, of course — for probably a year and have finally whittled it down to these two. The little red tag on the Hard Tail pants may sway me to hit “check out” on the Los Angeles Apparel pair, however.

I’ve been adding this Omega-3 oil to my cats’ dinners. My vet recommended it for some shedding and dandruff issues; results pending, as I’ve been using it for just over one month. But even my pickier cat doesn’t seem to mind eating it!
