I Tried Everything in the New Jones Road Body Care Collection

I’ve been a fan ofJones Roadsince the get-go. Day-to-day, I prefer ano-makeup makeup look, which is exactly what the brand — founded by Bobbi Brown — is known for. (Miracle Balm is my No. 1 pick for instant glow that looks natural and believable. I own several shades — Miami Beach is my favorite.) The skin care I’ve tried is simple and makes my skin look fresh and healthy. So when I heard the brand was launching a body line, I was eager to try it.
My current body-care routine is a hodgepodge, but the common thread is that everything is pretty basic. Myskin can be sensitiveto fragrance and color additives (I recently broke out in hives from my décolletage down to my ankles after using a yellow-tinted moisturizer), so knowing that Jones Road is a clean brand with fairly strict standards made me feel okay with trying it in the name of research.
Let’s start with first impressions: the packaging. It’s really good. The white-and-navy color scheme is modern and chic, and the glass packaging feels substantial — elevated enough to leave out on your bathroom counter. All of the products share the same clean, citrusy scent, a blend of orange, grapefruit, lavender, and helichrysum, an earthy-smelling flower. On first whiff, I get the fresh citrus along with an herbaceous note. It’s not overly feminine, which I appreciate, though I wasn’t immediately sold. That said, it’s actually quite nice on my skin. It smells clean, spalike, almost androgynous, and it won’t compete with perfume.

I love a rich body cream, and this one looks like yummy white frosting. I’ll admit it’s quite thick. I had to rub more than I do with my usualbody cream, but it does absorb completely. My skin felt slightly balmy to the touch but not greasy. Ingredient-wise, it contains sodium hyaluronate (a humectant), natural oils, and ceramides, so it both replenishes moisture and seals it in.

The lotion is lighter than the cream, but it’s still fairly thick. It has an ointment-y feel as you rub it in, but once absorbed, it surprisingly doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Like the cream, it contains sodium hyaluronate and ceramides, but it also includessqualane, an emollient that leaves skin soft and smooth. I like a rich cream or lotion in the dead of winter, but come spring and summer, I’d love an even lighter version of this — or maybe abody serum.

Those who prefer lightweight hydration will probably gravitate toward the body oil. It’s a blend of hibiscus seed, raspberry seed, apricot, borage, sunflower, camellia, and jojoba oils, which provide vitamins and essential fatty acids. I like the scent even more in thebody oilform. I pick up more of the fresh grapefruit note. The texture is silky, not slick or slippery. I apply it right out of the shower while my skin is still damp, and by the time I get dressed five to ten minutes later, I don’t have to worry about it staining my clothes. You can layer it under the cream or lotion to seal everything in or wear it on its own.

It’s hard to wax poetic aboutbodywash.It’s mostly about the scent. This one smells brighter and zestier than the leave-on products, and I actually love that contrast. It feels energizing, which makes sense for a morning shower. It works into a light lather, and because it contains barrier-supporting ingredients, including glycerin, niacinamide, and oat kernel, it didn’t leave my skin with that tight (read stripped) feeling I sometimes get after cleansing.

This was a standout for me. It’s creamy, not scratchy, and does exactly what you want a body scrub to do: exfoliate dead skin with gentle bamboo powder. The tube format makes it less messy than a tub (and prevents water from diluting the formula — an issue I often have with scrubs in jars). My only gripe is the size: It’s fairly small for a body product and looks more likea facial scrubtube, which means you’ll go through it quickly if you’re using it generously.
The Bottom Line:
Jones Road’s body line feels intentional, upscale, and veryBobbi Brownin spirit. The textures skew rich, the scent is subtle and wearable, and the formulas actually perform, especially in colder months. A lighter lotion or body serum would round out the collection beautifully, but if you’re into the clean, skin-first vibe of Jones Road, this body-care line will be a good match for you.
