Since my own kid and my friends’ kids all seem to have way too much stuff, I am all about the fewer-but-better, expensive-but-worth-it approach when it comes to toys. But LEGO and its younger cousin, Duplo, will always make the cut; the classic building toys are beloved by kids (and adults) of all ages, and though they are certainly not cheap, they have nearly endless play value to show for it. Right now, there are lots of excellent sets discounted by 30 percent — or more! — for Prime Day, so it’s a good time to add to your collection or stockpile gifts for upcoming birthdays and holidays. Below, I’ve collected the best deals I’ve found so far on LEGO Duplo for little kids, LEGO Friends and LEGO three-in-one sets for elementary-schoolers, LEGO Technic for older kids, and a couple of LEGO Icons and LEGO Ideas sets for teens and adults, arranged in ascending order by the age they’re rated for.
