Just like with the real thing, there are plenty of adjectives that can apply tofauxfur: glamorous, fabulous, a little bit campy. No surprise, then, that we’ve far surpassedfaux-fur coatsandfaux-furmittensand have now entered the somewhat unhinged territory offaux-furkey chainsandfaux-furtissue-box covers. A whole lot cheaper than real fur,fauxfur can cover nearly anything — and lately, it’s been everywhere.
As it’sfaux-fur high season, I went on the hunt for entirely (or at least almost entirely)faux-fur items to keep you warm (and/or to pet softly). This includes everything from the hyperrealistic fur mimicking lynx or mink on scarves and muffs to the unabashedly fake (like a pistachio-green stool covered in “monster fur”). Welcome to the Strategist’sfaux-fur wonderland. It’s quite cozy in here!
