Among all the Black Friday deals to be had, mattress deals are always some of the best. Most brands and retailers drop prices by at least $100, making some of the newer, already affordable mattresses even more attainable. Our advice: Do some research and check out our favorite mattresses, all of which were tested by the Strategist team. Then bookmark this page and follow along in the days leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which, if prior years are any indication, will be filled with excellent sales. (Note that we’ve listed the sales in alphabetical order by brand. And the prices we list are for queen-size mattresses for ease of comparison.)
If you’ve been flirting with the idea of a mattress or mattress topper upgrade, now is the best time of the year do it. And if the prices aren’t sweet enough, many of the below promotions will also get you a free pillow or set of sheets. Keep your eyes peeled for more Black Friday deals as we continue to update this page, and follow us on Twitter for more timely sales coverage. The holidays are almost under way — we’re here to help.

Aviya is offering $200 off their mattress with code STRATBF through November 30. When writer Lori Keong tested this mattress a while back, she said, “Sleeping on this changed my perception of what soft-but-supportive means.” The Aviya sandwiches inner springs between three layers of high-density foam. It’s a great choice for people who don’t have time to do tons of research but know they’d like a bed with inner springs rather than foam all the way down.
Avocado was rated our best eco-conscious mattress, which means you’re paying for coziness and peace of mind. We named Leesa’s original foam mattress one of our best all-around mattresses because it suits most people’s sleep needs. Now through December 6, you’ll get up to $350 off Leesa’s Original, Hybrid, or Legend mattresses, plus two free down-alternative pillows with your purchase.

For folks who are looking for a soft but springy bed, Purple may be your best bet because of its proprietary Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer, which is made of springy grids rather than something flat and solid. The grids also increase airflow, which makes this good for hot sleepers. From now until December 5, you’ll save up to $400 on mattresses and sleep bundles.
Saatva was our pick for best all-around mattress because of its combined comfort and ecoconscious features. Through December 10, it’s offering 10 percent off your entire purchase, including the mattress and bedding.

And like the Caspers of the mattress world, Tempur-Pedic lets you try this one out for 100 days and return it if you’re not happy with it.
Tuft & Needle
Writer Lauren Ro, who prefers a firm mattress, tested Tuft & Needle’s original mattress and called it “a solid introduction to a compressed mattress-in-a-box.” The Mint is has an extra layer of comfort foam and 30 percent more graphite in the top layer, which is supposed to draw heat away from your body as you sleep. If you’re interested in testing this cooling mattress for less, you can get it from now until December 1 and save $200 off the Mint at checkout.

Strategist senior writer Karen Iorio Adelson tested the Zinus Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress and calls it “the best value for a mattress, full stop.” Though she didn’t notice any cooling effects, she did say that it’s the only soft mattress she likes sleeping on. That’s because of the firm support layers hiding beneath the plush top. Starting now, and running through December 3, you can get 20 percent off anything on Zinus.com, making this affordable mattress an even better deal.
