Clare V. and Left on Fridayjust released a collection of swimsuits and accessories and I got a sneak peek at a few pieces ahead of the launch. The collaboration feels like a natural choice. Clare V.’s bold color sense complements Left on Friday’s sporty silhouettes, resulting in a capsule that’s fresh and playful. Here’s everything I tried on. I own the Sunday Suit in black and it’s one of my go-to bathing suits in the summer, so I knew that the Clare V. take on the brand’s classic style would also be flattering — and very cute. I was right.

This was my first time trying on a LoF two-piece and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the set. The top has the same cut as the Sunday Suit — low-V bust, sporty straps — and it looked just as flattering on my small chest as the one-piece did. I don’t normally go for high-waisted bottoms, but I didn’t mind this one at all. The white accents on both the top and bottom — white straps and stitching — give it a retro look that I dig.

Here’s the two-piece version in the check pattern. The triangle bikini top is a little too skimpy for me personally but cute for the right person. The Hi Hi bottom has a high rise and high cut leg.

The Sunday Top in Tropics is also pretty great. One strap is blue, the other red, with blue-and-red stitching down the front. It’s a subtle detail that elevates the piece. The bottoms also have blue-and-red stitching down the side, but it’s barely noticeable. This style is cut too high in the thigh and low in the front for my taste, but it’s admittedly a sexy bottom.

My favorite pieces of the bunch are the long-sleeved rash guards. They’re extremely light and comfortable to wear and have a little mock neck that I find elegant. The hems are all raw-cut so you hardly feel them. Like the other swimsuits, it’s the contrast stitching that sets them apart.
