You know how difficult finding a swimsuit is. We know how difficult finding a swimsuit is. It doesn’t matter whether it’s anitsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie, yellow-polka-dot bikinior acrinkle one-pieceà laHunza G. It feels impossible to know what will look good from pictures online — and let’s not even get started about slipping a bikini bottom over yourbriefsin a fitting room. But what if it didn’t have to bethatdifficult to find one you actually like? This summer, we’re taking some of the legwork out of buying your new swimsuit and diving into the Strategist Swimsuit Project.
Over the next few months, you’ll find all kinds of swimsuit coverage on the Strategist home page. Not only will our writers be trying out all the swimsuits from brands likeLeft on Friday,Summersalt, andYouswim, we’ll be hunting down one-pieces for the long-torsoed and swim trunks that aren’tjustBaggies. We’ll be figuring out things like the difference between a cheap swimsuit and an expensive one, too. Plus there’ll be other swim-related programming on the site — about pool floats,cover-ups, andbeach-bagpacking, to name a few. (If you have a Speedo emergency — a.k.a. you need a tankini before a tropical vacation — drop us a line at strategist@nymag.com with the subject “Ask the Strategist.”)
It’s our version of Swim Week. But not Miami’s,New York’s! Come out of the shallow end and join us.
