Discounts on AirPods, MacBooks, and AirTags, Plus Half Off on Beats: The Best Prime Day Apple Deals
October Prime Day is here, and we’re updating this story hourly. To find the best deals in every category, follow all of our October Prime Day coverage.
Any chance to avoid the Apple tax — the company’s gadgets can get quite pricey — is welcome. Apple rarely puts its own devices on sale, but during big sales events like Prime Day, third-party retailers (Amazon chief among them) certainly do. And this Prime Day, I’ve seen some worthwhile deals on AirPods, iPads, MacBook Airs, and accessories — and half-off or more on Apple’s Beats headphones.
Discounts on Macs are particularly noteworthy, given the currently outrageous prices of RAM and storage. Earlier this year, Apple increased the price of all its Macs — including the budget-friendly MacBook Neo — by at least $100. Notably, the MacBook Air got a $200 price hike, while the MacBook Pro is now $300 more expensive than it was at the start of the year. At that point, any discount helps, even if it just brings the price back down to pre-RAM-shortage prices.
Here are all the best Apple deals I’ve seen this Prime Day.

While the MacBook Neo is plenty powerful for daily tasks like browsing the web and checking email, the MacBook Air is well worth the extra money. Its all-day battery life and impressively powerful M5 chip are enough to get you through a day’s worth of work without having to dash for your charger. Several models are $200 off right now, bringing them close to their original prices. The cheapest model, with 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM, should cover most peoples’ needs, but a model with 24 GB of RAM will have more longevity and better multitasking. If you tend to have ten apps and 100 Chrome tabs open at any given time, it may be worth the splurge while it’s on sale.

If you like your tunes — or podcasts — to accompany you on a run, the Powerbeats Pro 2 may be a better option. Their clip ensures that the buds never fall out of your ears, and their sound quality is still quite good. This is the best price we’ve seen on them to date.

At $100, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better-looking pair of headphones. It doesn’t hurt that they sound pretty good, too.

Apple’s AirTags are the best way to keep track of things like your luggage, backpack, or even your pet (with the right collar).
