Kicking off with some spaces we’ve seen and loved recently. (1) The relatively new Charlap Hyman & Herrero–designed Batsheva shop. They spray-painted a Thonet table and coat stand bright red! (2) Pieter Estersohn’s kitchen. Prouve wall cabinet above all-steel appliances! (3) A suite at Le Grand Hôtel Cayré designed by curator Gilbert Kann, which has this lamp and MORE IMPORTANTLY, one of these UNREAL Pierre Sala Spirale chairs. * We’ve become aware of the loveliest little weekend bags, from this Florentine shop Magarchivio. (But also still fans of this Tough Traveler duffel, which our former editor Louis Cheslaw told us about years ago. Love the orange and lime green.)

* Daphne Javitch of Doing Well used to have this great lingerie basics line called TEN — really comfy but actually good-looking bras and underwear — but it’s sadly no longer. The other day when a friend brought it up (“Have you ever discovered another underwear brand like TEN? Why is underwear such a letdown!! Or a million dollars?”), we decided to ask Daphne herself what underwear she likes. “I actually get asked about this a lot,” she wrote back. “I really liked Arq undies for sleeping in, but they closed. The closest I have found to TEN that’s not a million dollars is Monoprix or Marks + Spencers. I like the ribbed ones from Monoprix and the plain white cotton underwear from M+S. I also really like Calida brand, especially this style here and here. Sometimes Hanro delivers. Whenever I travel, I hit flea markets for cotton undies at affordable prices. And I always visit the granny shops with nightgowns and underpants. Good luck to all!”

* Deborah Needleman is now selling Amish baskets online. Or rather, Deborah Needleman sold Amish baskets online — this batch seems to have gone seconds after she posted it! The pink quilt she used as a backdrop for these is really appealing. A few more pink quilts we found: 1950s twin-size rose gingham quilt for $37; pink-and-black gingham kantha for $61; magenta kantha, also $61; blueberry-adorned toddler quilt for $100; lightweight pink-checked quilt for $45.

* We do like the Plasticana water shoe but still think the $7 aqua sock is probably sufficient since it’s now August. And our features-writer friend Madeline Leung Coleman introduced us to these weirdos — hiking water shoes. We like these too!
