It’s pretty common knowledge that Vitamix reigns supreme in theblenderuniverse. I always tell people that the brand’s machines are well worth the investment at full price — though if you can nab one on sale, all the better. The tried-and-true 5200 has been on the market for nearly two decades, a testament to how solid it is. And it’s currently marked down 30 percent, making it only $350 (that’s about $50 lower than it was at Prime Day last year). Though it lacks some of the higher-tech features of newer models, like presets and a touchpad screen, for some (like me), this straightforwardness is a plus. There’s one high-speed option and then a variable speed that allows you to go between ten levels on a dial. This latter mechanism is great for optimal control, like when you want to start slow and then gear up as you create emulsions like sauces and dressings. As with all Vitamix blenders, the power, blade sharpness, build, and overall long-lasting durability is unrivaled.
