I’m convinced that I was born a few years too late to truly enjoy the rise of grunge music and early ’90s alternative rock. The first CD I ever bought was the Smashing Pumpkins’ double-album opus,Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, when I was around 10 or 11 years old. I had to beg my conservative parents to let me watch the1996 MTV Music Video Awards, where the Pumpkins performed and won six awards for “Tonight, Tonight,” including Video of the Year, and one for “1979.” I was a Pumpkinhead first and a Grunge Girl second, and would secretly listen to KROQ, the alt-rock Los Angeles radio station, on a tiny TV-shaped radio I had dug up. That was the extent of my rebellion. I was obviously too young to go to any concerts, not that I was even aware of them at that age, but luckily for me and all my fellow elder millennials and Gen-Xers, it feels like just about every ’90s band is back on the road.Oasisjust wrapped up an epic sold-out world tour;Pulpis currently touring promoting their newest album,More; andNine Inch Nailsrecently announced tour dates for 2026, to name a few heavy-hitters. Even if you missed these shows, you can still buy a lot ofmerch— T-shirts, remastered albums, limited-edition LPs — all of which would make fantastic, nostalgia-inducing gifts for the ’90s kid in your life. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadnessturned 30 this year, and to celebrate, the brand released a limited-edition, six-LP set that comes with unreleased 1996 tour tracks, hardbound liner notes, custom tarot sate, and lithographs. It’s all packaged quite handsomely in a velvet slipcase and cloth carrying bag. (Front man Billy Corgan also played alimited-run concert with Chicago’s Lyric Opera’s orchestra and choruslast month that yours truly attended.)

That price is admittedly a little steep, but here’s a T-shirt you can wear to show off the fact that you’ve been a Pumpkins fan since their debut studio album,Gish.

More, Pulp’s latest, was one of my top listened-to records of the year, but I missed the chance to see the band on the road. The tour tee is still available, though.

Missing the show doesn’t mean you can’t still slap this on the bumper of your car and go for a joyride on a Saturday night.

I listened to Sheryl Crow’s “My Favorite Mistake” on repeat over a 100 times this year. (It’s the song I put on when I want to feel a certain way.) She’s doing a little run ofacoustic shows right nowand I desperately wish I could go. Here’s a hat with the lines from another of her hits, “All I Wanna Do.”

There was something quite moving about seeing middle-age men kitted out in full Oasis garb (bucket hat, tracksuits) atMetLife stadiumthis past fall. The band arguably had the best tour merch thanks to their instantly recognizable logo and its collaboration with Adidas. It sold out immediately, but it looks like Adidas just released a fresh batch. I was able to get my hands onthis long-sleeve shirtthe first round, but not this jacquard jersey.

Nine Inch Nails (whose logo is also an all-timer) is touring next year, too, which is impressive considering how prolific Trent Reznor has become as a composer for film and television scores.

I listened toalotof Pearl Jam in high school. Partly because I thought Eddie Vedder was smoking hot. His hair! They were on tour in 2024, and while I haven’t seen them in concert, the band famously puts out “official bootleg” recordings of virtually every single show they play, so listening to one of those is kind of like you were there.

2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the Pixies coming together as a band, which only means one thing:a world tour. A psychedelic tote that asks one of rock music’s greatest queries.

Radiohead (or the Smile, an iteration of the band) is seemingly always on tour. Their merch has always been excellent. I wish I still had the long-sleeve shirt I got on their “Hail to the Thief” tour in 2003. A little random but no less intriguing is this “Karma Police”–inspired teapot and two-teacup set.

And finally, a subscription toCreem, the music magazine founded in 1969 and reissued in 2022, would be a great gift for the audiophile who misses reading Lester Bangs.
