For a tidy solution to the age-old question “Where did I put my pen again?,” try theBookbinders Design Pen Strap(from $6). This piece of elastic was created “to solve the problem in the most normal way possible,” says Caroline Blåberg of the Stockholm-based company. The strap holds writing utensils in place with small loops and keeps notebooks safely shut. Its simplicity caught the eye ofNew Yorksenior visuals director Stevie Remsberg at the Bookbinders Design store in Geneva, Switzerland. “I used to jam a pencil in my planner to carry it around, and it would break the spine or fall out,” says Remsberg, who now uses the strap to carry two Paper Mate felt-tip markers, a Muji ballpoint pen, and a mechanical pencil, all of which are different sizes and widths. “They haven’t ever slipped out.”
