While aimlessly scrolling through Gap’snew arrivalsafter work one night, I was shocked by how good its summertees and tanksare (thank you,Gapaissance). There are tons of clean-cut cotton crewnecks, V-necks, and camisoles in just the right summery shades of red, blue, and yellow. And I’m not the only one who thinks so. Several other Strategist staffers have dropped links to Gap tops they’ve been eyeing over the past few days, and many of these have already sold out. While, yes, some bear a strong resemblance to their pricier Flore Flore and Leset counterparts, they’re still very nice-looking, especially for the price. Below are the standouts — and they’re all 40 percent off right now.

The tank that set me on my Gap-top journey. It looks incredibly similar to one I’d been eyeingat Flore Flore(which costs more than thrice as much) with just as deep a V-neck, a thick border on the neckline and armholes, and a hip-length bodice. Expect the Gap’s to be stretchier thanks to its cotton-modal makeup.

For a tank that’s slightly less dramatic, there’s this very similar but more interestingly textured one in the same comfortable cotton-modal blend. It comes in many great neutrals, too, like adusty grey-blue.

This J.Crew-esque 100 percent cotton roll-neck has already sold out in what deputy editorSimone Kitchenscalls a “Babaà-ish” red, but it’s still available in a very Fourth of July striped version. Iespecially love the high neck, ribbed hem, and color blocking.

Last year, five Strategist staffers tried Leset’s famed Margo tee and found it a tad too pricey. This Gap tee is a nice, much cheaper alternative with a similarly boxy relaxed fit. Gap’s 100 percent cotton jersey take is ever so slightly more cropped and roomy, but it’s just as good-looking. My favorite’s the navy.

While this cotton-forward modal blend V-neck isn’t exactly brand-new (it’s one of Gap’s best sellers), this perfectly butter-yellow shade will be just right against summer tans to come.
