New Stuff Alert: Rothy’s Loafers and Todd Snyder Top-Siders
For this week’s “Don’t Dillydally,” we’ve rounded up a range of newly released products we’re particularly excited about, including a Snoopy-themed Tamagotchi, Todd Snyder Top-Siders, and iridescent swim trunks from Bather.
Sperry launched a collaboration with menswear designer Todd Snyder that includes a pair of leather boat shoes and a pair of canvas sneakers. Both styles update familiar Sperry classics with dressier monochrome colors. The boat shoes come in brown or black leather with matching leather laces and Vibram soles. The sneakers come in black or white with a natural gum sole.

When I first started writing for the Strategist, the Haws watering can was the ultimate, status-y must-have for gardening obsessives. Now the brand is collaborating with artist Dave Arnold to make the luxury garden tool even more of a work of art. It comes in two colors, burgundy and forest green, which Arnold hand-painted with drippy daisies.

Solo Stove’s new outdoor griddle is portable, propane-powered, and gets very hot — up to 850 degrees — in minutes. It’s pricey yet intriguing for folks who don’t have the space for a traditional grill but are serious about their backyard smash burgers.

Tatcha has finally made a more lightweight version of Rio’s beloved Dewy Skin Cream, with the same healing and plumping benefits from Japanese purple rice and green tea, but in a silkier, more liquid formulation.

During my tenure as a toy writer I have come to love Tamagotchis, the Nano in particular. So, as a long-time Snoopy fan, I’m especially excited about the new Peanuts-themed Nano. It’s available for preorder now, and expected to ship in early August.

According to my husband, most men’s bathing suits are either too wacky or too plain. But I think he’ll be happy to see this new collection of iridescent, solid-color trunks from Bather. It’s a nice middle ground that’s sexy and fun but doesn’t make you look like a try-hard.

What shoes won’t Rothy’s reimagine? The brand’s newest style is a take on the penny loafer made of the brand’s familiar washable knit, with a bit of a heel and a non-slip sole.

Rocco’s, makers of a cool-kid wine fridge, have released a special orange edition in collaboration with Katz’s Delicatessen. You could fill it up with wine, but nobody will stop you from using it to store sandwiches or salami.

Here’s a dino-themed version of a Strategist-recommended outdoor toy (that’s also one of Ms. Rachel’s favorites). I do wish the dinosaurs had legs or a tail, but I’m not an aerospace engineer and they’re probably really fun to play with anyway.

I am of course skeptical of any new bug-repellent brand, especially one with such nice packaging, but I can’t wait to test this one, which uses plant-based ingredients like 2-undecanone, a compound found in wild tomato plants, bananas, cloves, and ginger, to repel mosquitoes and ticks. More to come on whether it actually works and the claims that it doesn’t feel sticky are true.

Momofuku’s newest launch is specifically designed for the heat-averse, whether that’s a friend with a timid palate or a kid. The Mild Garlic Chili Crunch is smokey and sweet with the same yummy texture as its more fiery predecessors.
