This Prime Day, Just Buy It in Miniature
October Prime Day is here, and we’re updating this story hourly. To find the best deals in every category, follow all of our October Prime Day coverage.
I often use Prime Day as an opportunity to stock up on my boring beauty essentials like body oil (one year, I bought seven bottles of Aveeno) and Bioderma micellar water. But this year, I’ve taken a different approach given the proliferation of travel-size beauty products. I love a tiny anything, but the case for travel beauty is particularly compelling. I’ve never been good with those travel-size bottles you can decant stuff into and prefer mini-versions of the stuff I use at home. It’s also a cost-effective way to test out a product you’re curious about and haven’t yet incorporated into your routine, even if it costs a bit more per ounce. That small difference is worth it when you’re buying on sale and often evens out when buying a full-size product. Everything here is under $20, so it isn’t too cost prohibitive to try something new. I anticipate these deals to hold until end of day tomorrow, October 7, when Prime Day ends, but stock is unpredictable, so I’d recommend checking out sooner rather than later, especially if it’s popular, like the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. And if you’re in the market for other stuff, like a new vacuum or fancy blow dryer, we’ve compiled the best deals in our Prime Day hub.

I love a clarifying shampoo for lifting dirt and impurities from hair. This one from Aveda contains micelles, the cleansing molecules you find in micellar water, and white vinegar along with rosemary and mint, which help to stimulate the scalp and hair growth.

I just ran out of my go-to micellar water, so I’ll be buying a bottle or two of this, which is ultragentle and easily removes makeup and SPF. It’s also a favorite of Good Weather Skin founder Franchesca Hashim, who likes that it “removes everything without drying out the skin too bad.”

Many body washes are stripping, but this shower oil from L’Occitane creates a hydrated base right out of the shower. I also ran out of this recently and am excited to restock my toiletry bag.

This is technically full size but at two ounces is well within TSA regulations. It locks makeup in place for up to 24 hours while giving skin a natural finish. I also like that it has some skin-care ingredients like glycerin and niacinamide, which help with hydration.

Sol de Janeiro’s intoxicating scent is the star of this body wash. It also contains similar nourishing ingredients to the brand’s popular Bum Bum cream like cupuacu butter, Brazilian açai oil, and coconut oil. The combination is both cleansing and hydrating so skin feels soft after showering.

Beauty of Joseon makes one of my favorite sunscreens, so I’d like to try this cleanser, which contains a blend of plum water, plum extract, and mung-bean water, which helps to maintain moisture while also gently exfoliating skin.
