This longtime Strategist favorite first came to our attention through Strategist editor Alexis Swerdloff, who bought one out of desperation nearly a decade ago. She’d grown tired of hearing everything that happened in her neighbors’ apartment, from take-out orders to the buzz of every text message. Although she’d been hesitant because of the Stormtrooper-helmet design, “When I turned it on, and the soothing whir enveloped my tiny bedroom, I truly did not care what it looked like: Not only was there no sign of anyone living within 100 miles of me, but my sleep immediately became sounder and deeper,” she says. Eight years and three apartments later, Swerdloff still swears by the same Dohm noise machine. For anyone who doesn’t yet know the deep and peaceful sleep it can bring, the Dohm is on sale today for 30 percent off, dropping the price to a very-worth-it $31.
