Amazon Prime Day deals can be hit or miss, but it is consistently a good time to buy avacuum. I’ve been covering the category for three years, and I always expect to see some of our favorite models on sale for 20 to 30 percent off, bringing down the price of a fancy new Dyson orrobot vacuuminto a more manageable range. This year is no exception, with lots of truly worthwhile deals — some of which have gotten better now that we’ve seen the fourth sunrise of a sales holiday that is stretching the limits of the word “day.” The sales event ends tonight at 11:59 PT, and I’ve already seen a few popular models sell out, so act fast if you see something you like. The Shark PowerDetect bumped a more-expensive Dyson out of the top spot in our guide to the best cordless vacuums. Senior writer Michael Zhao especially liked its thoughtful design features, like a hinged tube and the ability to stand upright without leaning against a wall. And “it definitely delivers on cleaning power, rarely taking more than a single pass to suck up whatever mess was in front of it,” he writes. (The exact vacuum Zhao tested is out of stock, but this model from the same line has the same specs and is still on sale.)

If you’re trying to splurge on a robot-vacuum-mop combo, now’s the time. The Saros 10R performs exceptionally as both a vacuum and a mop with the highest suction power of any model McMahon tested. (He verified that number by dumping coffee grounds on a rug then seeing which robot vacuum sucked up the most. The Saros won.)
