Some items are worth spending a little more on duringPrime Day,when the discounts are the best that they ever get.

Whenever I’m away from home, the thing I miss the most isn’t my bed — it’s my bidet. The automatedBB-2000 Bliss Bidethas become one of the best home purchases I’ve made in the last few years because there’s simply no going back to regular toilet use once you’ve experienced it. I imagine it feels like going from using outhouses to getting indoor plumbing for the first time: You just feel morecivilizedafter a trip to the loo.

As far as bidets go, the BB-2000 is on the luxury end of the spectrum, but the Prime Day discount brings the price just under $500. That’s still a lot, but the bidet is loaded with features that make it worth the money. It puts out a continuous stream of warm water, so you won’t ever be surprised withcoldwater. There’s a front-wash setting in addition to the typical rear wash, plus a stronger “vortex” option — as indicated by a graphic with a butt and a drill-like spray underneath it. Other extras include an always-warm toilet seat (which you can turn off in the summer), adjustable nozzle positioning, various pulse modes for the water stream, a deodorizer, a warm air dryer, and adjustable water temperature and pressure.

I don’t fuss with most of the settings and personally find that the front wash is strong enough for front and rear washing, but my husband takes advantage of all the features to get extra clean: He goes through the two-minute wash cycle twice before drying off with the three-minute air-dry setting. That’s too much time for me to spend on the toilet, but I still feel like a new person after every time I go No. 2. I also love the BB-2000 for freshening up when I’m on my period and after certain nighttime activities. We’ve owned it for nearly four years, and it’s never malfunctioned. As much as we love going on vacation, coming back home to our Bio Bidet is its own reward.
