Today we’re launching theNew YorkShop, our first official merch store, and as editors of The Strategist — and regular cataloguers of bothNew YorkandNew York merch— we felt it was our duty to be the best (online) store clerks we could be and take you on a tour of the three collections we’re offering with a selection of pieces from each to give you a little taste.
First up, another collaboration with Only NY. This time it’s a limited-edition collection of accessories inspired by our cover story onZizmorcore— the phenomenon of New Yorkers wearing an excess of hyperlocal New York merch — where we ever-so-slightly altered the magazine’s classic logo. (If you like what you see here, don’t dillydally: Our first collaboration with Only NY sold out in four days.)
Our second limited-edition collection is a series of T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring a hand-painted version of theNew Yorklogo in perfectlyKindercorecolors. Eagle-eyed readers might recognize it from the cover of our October 4, 1982, issue, which is all about raising children in the city, and this is the first time we’re putting it on clothing.
And finally, we’ve brought back our nepo-baby merch for actual babies — inspired by Vulture’s deep dive into thechildren of famous people— with an embroidered bib and a printed onesie. If you’re interested in keeping it really classic, we’ve got a collection of always-available apparel and accessories featuring the logo that’s so iconicDiddyhas it tattooed on his arm.
