These black pants from Banana Republic recently unseated our Best in Class pick for the best work pants for women by our fashion writer Ambar Pardilla. They’re made with a Tencel-cotton blend that she says doesn’t wrinkle easily and also washes well. The ankle-length pants are also extremely comfortable, thanks to the elastic waistband in the back, while a zip fly and hook-and-bar closure in the front lends them a more formal look, should you choose to dress them up. Pardilla has worn them on video calls, to the dentist, and to dinners out. “They fit perfectly everywhere,” she wrote. “Not too tight in the thighs and short enough for my not long legs.” The pants are frequently on sale, and today they’re 30 percent off for $70.
