What Strategist Readers Bought This Month: Cinnamon, Noodles, and Lots of Poplights
Welcome back to “Your Shopping Cart,” where we break out the top products that you, devoted Strategist readers, bought in droves. Think of this as the TL;DR of the Strategist. If your like-minded fellow readers are buying these items, maybe you’d like to as well.
The most-saved items this month
I am charmed by the fact that many of you have been contemplating the purchase of fancy cinnamon. For those who do end up getting some, I recommend making the Smitten Kitchen pumpkin bread with it. Another cozy fall purchase being saved for later was Poplight, the renter-friendly stick-on sconce that interior designers recommend for gloomy hallways.

The most-clicked items this month
As for which items you clicked through to learn more about, Bonne Maman’s much-anticipated Advent calendar was a predictable hit, alongside the Anthropologie calendar that also drew lots of interest when it launched back in September. It’s less than a month until you get to start opening those windows. And not only did many of you save the Poplight for later — many of you clicked through in advance of the end of daylight saving time.

A buzzy new term in the anti-aging space
Beauty Brief readers heard it first: Senescence is a word you’re soon going to be seeing everywhere in anti-aging-product marketing. (It’s basically just a fancy way of saying “growing old.”) Marie Veronique is one of the latest brands to hop on the trend with its new Senolytic Series, which includes a balm and serum that are supposed to target cell longevity.

A mindful way to teach kids to cook
“Practicing patience is one of my greatest parenting struggles, especially when I’m overstimulated or have to listen to someone chew,” our senior editor Jen Trolio admitted this month to readers of The Strategist Kids’ Department. “So I’m a little in awe of anyone who’s able to joyfully cook alongside a toddler; sure, they are wonderfully and endlessly curious, but they’re also clumsy and prone to outbursts that don’t mix well with knives and forks.” Two people who have mastered this patient art? Kristen Miglore and Junnifa Uzodike, two Montessori experts who’ve written a guide to setting up your kitchen — and shifting your mind-set — to successfully make food with your kids.

The Secret Strategist found an all-glass travel mug
Strategist deputy editor Simone Kitchens recently ordered this double-walled borosilicate-glass travel mug. And while it can’t compete with stainless steel for maintaining piping-hotness, it keeps drinks warm (preheating with boiling water helps) and is completely plastic-free. It’s a pleasure to sip from and, as she puts it, a “good gift for a certain type of person.”

Strategist staffers revealed their Strat-iest purchases over the years
For The Strategist Daily, several longtime writers and editors looked back on their most revelatory purchases from the site over the past ten years. For senior writer Lauren Ro, these sliding chip clips came to mind: “My husband read about them on the Strategist and ordered them immediately. We still use them every single day. They’re the best at keeping snacks and other foods fresh. I can’t believe we’ve had them for six years.”
