Black Honey went on sale for Prime Day last week, which accounts for the renewed interest. Our writer Tembe Denton-Hurst also reviewed Clinique’s expanded Black Honey line, which now includes mascara, eye shadow, and nail polish.

“When I first tested the Vaseline body butter a few months ago, I wasn’t super-impressed,” writes Denton-Hurst. “I was trying it out as part of a bigger story for which I tested a bunch of different options. At the time, I said it wasn’t for me personally, citing its thin, quickly disappearing texture, but four months later, I am here to amend that statement. It’s actually great.”

Najwa Jamal shared her jeans secrets in the Strategist’s daily newsletter
This month, we shared updates coordinator Najwa Jamal’s hunt for mules she can actually walk in. Readers not only loved it — they also sent in a lot of questions about the white jeans she’s wearing in a few try-on photos. “I’m something of a year-round white-jeans and pants fanatic,” she explained in our daily newsletter. “DL1961’s pair came to my attention back in April mainly for their 13 percent linen blend and have remained in my weekly rotation since.”

The Strategist Kids’ Department recommended a wacky, profound picture book
Our audience-growth manager Hannah Kotzen has been reading I Want to Be a Vase (a 2022 picture book by comedian and TV writer Julio Torres about a plunger that … wants to be a vase) aloud to the kids in her life. “Like the rest of Torres’s work, the story is wacky, meta, and extremely delightful, and the artwork — a mix of surrealist 3-D images and bright colors — is fun for kids and adults alike,” she says.
