What Strategist Readers Bought This Month: Fall Is Here — and It’s Advent Calendar Season
Welcome back to “Your Shopping Cart,” where we break out the top products that you, devoted Strategist readers, bought in droves. Think of this as the TL;DR of the Strategist. If your like-minded fellow readers are buying these items, maybe you’d like to as well.
The most-saved items this month
Everybody aspired to own the Allex “perfectly balanced, lightweight, durable scissors” this month. (I, too, think these could change my life.) Other items that you were all saving for later included a tikka masala simmer sauce that’s just as good as takeout, a plush natural-fiber mattress topper, and LED lightbulbs that glow like old-school ones.

The most-clicked items this month
Fall is here, as heralded by the appearance of penny loafers in our most-clicked list. Somewhat frighteningly for September (everyone’s looking forward to the holidays), an Advent calendar also drew a lot of interest, alongside our favorite concert earplugs (not everyone’s ready to let go of festival season), the facial cleanser that four Strategist staffers use daily, and sweatpants in a trendy barrel silhouette to match your jeans.

A fantastic fragrance for fall
Our senior writer Dominique Pariso told The Strategist Beauty Brief all about the transitional fragrance she’s wearing right now: Dries Van Noten’s Velvet Violet. “It’s a lot greener than a pure floral and is paired with a really interesting sesame-seed-and-barley note that gives it an almost toasted quality,” she explained. “Pink pepper, vetiver, and tonka bean round it out. And while I only got my hands on a sample tester, I may need to spring for the full size immediately because the bottle, like all of the design house’s beauty packaging, is absolutely beautiful.”

Cool trash cans exist (and The Secret Strategist found them all)
