A jewelry-brand founder I met this week told me she expected gold to tip above $5,000 an ounce by the end of 2026. The rate of gold inflation over the past few years has caused many companies to jack up their prices, which has made buyingjewelryalmost prohibitively expensive. One work-around is to buy on sale, which is why I was so excited for this year’s annual Catbird Summer Sale, where pieces are at least 15 percent off, a very solid discount forfine jewelry. I scoured the sale section to find even steeper discounts up to 25 percent, with plenty of solid gold for under $250. One other tip: Catbird stocks quite a few independent jewelry designers who rarely offer sales of their own; they are discounted right now alongside Catbird’s in-house line. So while I focused on more affordable pieces, I did include a selection of splurge-worthy items, too.
