We Found Lorde’s Water Bottle — And a Stanley This Is Not

Last night, I was scrolling through Instagram Stories in bed when I was taken aback by Lorde’swater bottle. She was standing on herRush House rug, holding a laptop in one hand and dangling a giant, multicolor water bottle from the finger tips of her other hand.
I screenshotted it and zoomed in. It was a particularly nice water bottle. Huge but not dumb-looking. Colorful but not babyish. Something about the scoop of the bottle neck made it look almost like an Ionic column. Enchanted, I tracked it down: It’sthe titanium aurora bottleby Snow Peak.
Being that $170 is a lot of money to spend on a water bottle, I asked Emma Wartzman,our water bottle correspondent, for her thoughts. She said, “I think the price really comes down to the material. Snow Peak makes camping gear, so its bottle is built with a hiker’s first priority in mind: not adding a ton of weight to their load. It’s a mere 5.2 ounces when empty — this might be why Lorde can dangle it so easily.” She continued, “Likemy Nalgene pickfor our best lightweight water bottle, which has a larger capacity than Snow Peak’s but still weighs a little less, this one isn’t insulated. But unlike the Nalgene, itismade from titanium instead of plastic, so my guess is that it’s more durable, easier to clean, and overall longer lasting.” (This tracks with Lorde’s previous water bottle preferences — she partnered with Nalgene for aSolar Powermerch line.)
