This was one of my first mascaras, and mascara was one of the first things, as a makeup junkie, that my grandmother allowed me to put on. She used to use it; it has been around forever. When you put it on, it stays on, but it comes off with soap and water.

I’m a very basic Cetaphil kind of moisturizing-cream and cleanser type of person. I like it for my face because it’s so gentle and really takes off everything.

I found this when I was assisting another makeup artist 15 years ago. They were like, “Try this.” This was before tinted moisturizers were really a thing, so I would use it to thin out a full-coverage foundation and as skin prep. You could build on the face and put makeup over it, and it helped makeup stay in place and not wear off.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
I recently fell into this. Wintertime here in L.A. isn’t like winter in New York, but when it gets cold you want something to treat your skin that isn’t too oily or tacky.

It’s easy to find, and the color payoff is great. It’s easily blendable. For the cost of it, it’s great. It always has a really great base, and the color range of the eye-color-enhancing eye-shadow palettes is good. There’s something for the fairest skin to the deepest skin.

Someone gave this to me and was like, “Here, try this,” and I thought,How good could it be?I’m a huge lip person. This is good if you want one of those balmy lip-oil kind of products. It’s not as shiny as a gloss, but it really does help to hydrate the lips. I like the lighter tints, which are your lip color but better.

You can use it everywhere. I use it on my cuticles. It can go in a hand moisturizer that’s not as creamy as you want it to be. At night, it can be your eye cream. I put it in my brows. I have the big tub and the tube. That big tub is for feet or anything that gets chapped or hard. I’m so aware of my elbows and knees.

My sister-in-law swears by Vaseline. She got me back on it at night with socks. I call it a warm hug for your feet. If you really wanna do something nice after a long hot bath, use Vaseline. Everyone’s just like, “Oh my God, petroleum jelly.” I’m like, “Whatever. It’s been around forever.” Massage your feet with it and then put on your thickest, warmest socks. When you wake up in the morning, your feet feel like clouds. It is so hydrating.

Sometimes, I mix it in with my face moisturizer. It keeps you calm. I put a little in my palm or rub a little on my temples. It keeps the people you’re around calm. I always put a little bit in my hand lotion as I’m working on someone’s face to kind of just keep that calmness.
