Sur La Table’s Spring Sale Is Still On — and the Markdowns Are Still Good

We’re starting out strong with our best-in-classDutch oven. It’s been recommended by no less than five professional chefs and is the one I’ve had in my own kitchen for nearly a decade. (For what it’s worth, I expect to have it for my whole life, too.) It heats evenly on the stovetop and in the oven, distributes moisture off the inside lid thanks to the dimples, and has a comfortable grip and a sleek look.

Staub also makes excellentbakeware. (I have similar baking dishes in my own collection and use them weekly.) All the brand’s enameled stoneware is durable, doesn’t cause sticking, heats evenly, and cleans up beautifully. As for this set in particular: It gives the flexibility of three sizes while nesting for compact storage.

When friends ask me for advice about buying anespresso machine, I have two things to say: Go with aBreville, and wait for it to be on sale. The brand is trusted by nearly every coffee pro I’ve ever spoken to for pulling good shots at home. And even though the machines are more affordable than the ones you’ll find in actual coffee shops, they’re still pricey — so the discount here is welcome. This model comes with a built-in grinder.

All-Clad makes industry-standard stainless steel, and it’s normally pretty pricey. That makes this 12-inch skillet (with a matching lid) a great deal at almost half off.

I wouldn’t call this an imperative piece of cookware, but it’s certainly fun. It’s made from cast iron, so you’re guaranteed to get substantial grill marks. And it works on both the stovetop and induction cooktops.

Zwilling makes a great (and quite attractive)personal blender, now at more than 20 percent off. The functions are straightforward: It has a designated smoothie setting that runs for a set cycle, and you can easily pulse by holding the dial to the left for as long as you want it to run.

Yet another best-in-class number makes an appearance. This is our favoritechef’s knifeas it’s supersharp and well balanced, holds an edge for a long time, and is lightweight enough to be nimble but not so lightweight that it becomes unwieldy. It’s discounted in the six-inch size (nice for those with smaller hands) and the standard eight-inch, shown here.

This knife isn’t as heavily discounted and falls right below the 20 percent-off mark I usually designate as my standard for actually good deals. Still, it would be a great blade to add to your collection — and overall comes in at a very reasonable price from a trusted brand. I personally love my Nakiri knife because the straight blade is amazing at cutting through and chopping up vegetables — and this one is the perfect length for optimal control.

The other most important blades to have around the kitchen? Scissors. These sharp edges can handle intense tasks, like cutting through smaller chicken bones, and delicate ones, like snipping herb leaves off their stems.

Now for some tableware. Two Strategist staffers, writerLauren Roand senior editorJen Trolio, own these simplebowls, which are perfect for cereal, soup, rice, snacks, and more. They’re highly durable: Ro has had hers since 2019 and Trolio since 2010, and both have had minimal chipping with regular use over the years. The line has been around for a long time and shows no signs of going anywhere — a bonus if you ever want to expand your set or replace any broken items.

Be Home is an underrated brand for serveware and table décor (I first discovered it at a small shop in Brooklyn, and now it’s a go-to when I’m shopping for something to add to my collection). Sur La Table carries a few items, including the Sienna line. I especially like this serving bowl. It’s simple but pretty and has a lovely shape.
