Any true deal hunter knows the best time to buy something is when you don’t actually need it — in the offseason. Artificial Christmas trees in July, jorts in January, sweaters in the summer: Retailers practically give away products that aren’t of immediate use. I often buy next year’s decorations in the weeks following any given holiday. (What, am I not going to celebrate Halloween next year?) And as someone who lives where it’s summerlike year-round (Texas), I appreciate buying discounted tank tops any time of year.
