David flavored protein bars are having a moment. You can find them in almost every shop you go into — but right now, every flavor on Amazon is on sale for 20 percent off. This includes Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk, Salted Peanut Butter, Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Cake Batter. They’re big and chewy, dressed up in gold wrappers that remind me of a Wonka Bar.
When Strategist contributor Laura Neilson went on a journey to find the best mostly natural, actually tasty protein bar, she tried almost all of the David flavors listed above. And while they were good, she also described them as “standard issue.” But when she tried the Blueberry Pie flavor, she was sold. “It was dessert-y but not saccharine,” she says, “and I loved the satisfying crunch from white chocolate chunks and these teeny, little cookie crisps.”
