Gap sales are always good, and they are only going to get better now that the brand has hired designerZac Posenas creative director. But even before that, I could never pass up browsing its sale racks for quality basics likejean jackets,linen button-ups, comfortableshorts,socks, andunderwear,and cutesummer dresses. This Gap sale — actually, it’s two sales at once — is no exception, with 30 percent off summer essentials for men, women, kids, and babies, as well as an extra 30 percent off select items at checkout. As you might expect, things are going fast. So to help you make quick work of it, I picked a sampling of my favorite items (that still have a good amount of sizes available) at the lowest prices I could find.

Oversize button-up shirts are my summer-layering hack, as they look good over literally everything from a bathing suit to a sundress. This one has a sweet menswear vibe and a slightly ’70s collar.
