We’re always searching for greatwhite T-shirts, and whenJamie Lynn Siglerrecommended one from Amazon, we were all ears. “Everyone wants the perfect white tee. And look, there are so many different fits, right?” said Sigler. ”But for a basic, good white T-shirt … this is the best one I’ve found. I think it’s cut really nice and slim. It’s not boxy. The neck is great. It falls perfectly in the arms. To me it’s just the best white tee.”

I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I don’t doubt Tony Soprano’s daughter’s opinions (Christopher Moltisantiisn’t behind me, promise), but my skepticism had to do with the shirt being Amazon branded (part of a line the megaretailer calls “The Drop”). I hoped it wouldn’t be as cheapo as a Hanes or Fruit of the Loom multi-pack can occasionally be. And so I ordered one.

It was a real head-scratcher when it arrived. The shirt looked so nice that I guessed my Curaprox toothbrushes and Supergoopsunscreenhad accidentally been packed with someone’s Shopbop order for a much more expensive white T-shirt. But lo and behold, there was the Drop tag. Nothing about it read “it’s an $8 T-shirt” in the slightest. If anything, Sigler failed to mention just how not-cheap-looking it is. I even checked the threads, down to the center back seam, and found nadalacking.

The Drop Sydney T-shirt reminds me a little bit ofBuck Mason’s Slub Easy-Crew, the Strategist’sBest in Class white T-shirt. Like the Buck Mason, it looks broken-in from the get-go. The 100 percent pima cotton feels lightweight compared toLeset’s MargoandLe Bon Shoppe’s Little Boy. The Amazon tee isn’t made from thin-thin fabric, but you may need to wear a flesh-toned bra. Its jersey weave makes it a little stretchier, and the 100 percent cotton keeps it breathable. I’m already wearing it more than any of myEverlane box-cut teesthis summer.

As Sigler said, the elbow-length sleeves and slightly higher crewneck are perfect. So is the length (the hem sits right past my waistband). It’s not fitted, but it’s not unfitted. All things considered, it’s a little white tee that’s not too little, not white-white, and not like every other tee. I might be following Sigler’s lead and getting multiples. Stars, they’re just like us!
