What Rico Nasty Can’t Live Without

My dad was a dental assistant, so he was just always like, “You need to floss, you need to brush your teeth twice a day, you need to make sure you’re using mouthwash,” and all this stuff. So, I’m really big on brushing my teeth, and I’m really big on flossing. I have two of these brushes: one that’s in my house and then one for travel. People always like, “You have such a pretty smile,” and this is literally what I use for that. I like that it’s powerful, but I don’t really think it’s about power. I think it’s more about the vibration. I feel like it really does what it needs to do as far as stimulating the plaque to get it off of your teeth. I am not a fan of brushing my teeth super hard.

I think I started traveling with these watercolor pens when I was on tour. The water literally just comes through the brush; it’s so fire. I got a tiny sketchbook from Michaels in 2022, and I just finished all the pages at the beginning of this year. It just keeps me busy. Sometimes I’ll want to write about the places that I’m at, or I’ll get stickers from the fans, or draw about the experience a little bit. She’s a cute little book, but to be fair, sometimes I’ll literally go on Pinterest and draw other stuff that I see. So I can’t publish it, because some of it is other people’s stuff that I think looks cool.

My stylist got me this for Christmas with my name engraved on it, and it’s the best-smelling shit ever. I just love the way it smells and I love the consistency of it, because it’s a perfume, but it has this other feeling to it. It feels almost like a lotion. It’s really luxurious when you put it on. And it makes you smell like an ethereal fairy wood goddess. This and Comme des Garçons Concrete are my go-to scents.

Five minutes before I go onstage, this is the last thing that I apply, because it just makes my skin look so good. And it smells so good. I’ll use it out of the shower, too, but I really do love the effect it has at shows. I like layering it with Tom Ford body glitter and a bit of regular Palmer’s cocoa butter.

A lot of people are like, “Wait, what do you use to bleach your eyebrows?” It’s this, and it works so well. Especially if I have a little bit of hair growing out, it really grabs the hair really well. And I love the little toner that comes with it. When I started doing it four years ago, L’Oréal was just the most available brand, and I’m the type of person where if I do something, especially on my face, I want to keep doing it over and over again. And when it comes to being overseas, or being on the road, you want something from CVS. My girl always going to be there. I can depend on my girl. They’ll never stop making her. It’s everywhere, and it’s one of those things where you can also send somebody to the store to get it and it’s not going to be super hard to find or super specific.

If you have this, a really good foundation, and a really good highlighter, you don’t need any other makeup. I will use this palette with my fingers. I do quick touch-ups if I have bags under my eyes or a little pimple or if I just want a little contour, to brighten myself up a little bit. That’s my shit. Especially on the road when I am doing meet and greets all the time.
It’s definitely worth the price because yeah, it really does last. And you really don’t have to use a lot, either. It’s really pigmented, and it isn’t chalky.

I’ve been a fan of Aesop for two years. This is an Aesop house. I have the scalp oil, I have the face oil, I have the cleanser, I have the toner, I have the sunscreen. I love Aesop. If you ever want to get me a gift, get me Aesop. I love them so much. I started using the sunscreen every day when I moved into a new place and hadn’t unpacked anything else. Then I was like, “Wait, my skin looks so good.” And then I started hiking a lot and realized it really works and actually protects my face.

My stylist put me onto this as well. That girl, she’s so early on stuff. She was onto Rhode before they had those phone cases. She had a whole set of these, and I remember we were in the car and I was just smelling them and trying different ones and I was like, “Bro, I love the texture of this. This is so good.” It’s very creamy. And it keeps your lips shiny for really long. I wouldn’t recommend putting it over makeup. It’s something that I would recommend using just on a regular day, like ChapStick. It is a treatment. It’s better over just bare lips.
